DIY Avocado Lavender Face Mask
Helloooo cold, dry air! With the winter months approaching, the temperature change can have a big impact on our skin. Whether you suffer from redness, dry patches or flaky skin, it’s important to modify your skin care routine to adapt to the weather.
Does this mean I should buy all new face products? Fortunately, the answer is no! There are many things that you can do using the power of food to hydrate your body from the inside out and the outside in that are low in cost.
In terms of what we put IN our body, a few tips to promote better skin hydration:
Consume minimum of 2L of water daily
Increase your healthy fat intake (avocados, fish, nuts, seeds, coconut oil)
Avoid caffeine and alcohol as much as possible (alcohol dehydrates your body and caffeine constricts blood vessels, preventing the flow of nutrients to your tissues)
In addition to what we eat, making a face mask once a week can provide many benefits. One of my favourite DIY recipes not only promotes skin hydration, but its also treats acne (due to the antimicrobial and antibacterial properties of the ingredients), improves circulation and combines numerous antioxidants to reduce the signs of aging. Are you ready for the recipe yet?
