Spring Time - Detox, Immune & Gut Health

Happy April everyone ☺

I know that what’s going on in our world is not ideal. However, it’s important that we try and focus on what’s in our control. One of those things is continuing to implement strategies to support your health both physically and mentally.

Right now most of us are working and with Spring officially here, now is the perfect time to reset your body. Support your gut health, your immune system and your body’s natural detoxification pathways such as your liver and skin. You will begin to feel refreshed and renewed.

If you’re ready to dive into a plan that is 100% customized to your needs with natural supplementation, food and recipes as well as lifestyle recommendations, send an email to sabrina@turnipthebeets.ca to schedule a 1-on-1 FREE 15 min phone consult so we can chat about your goals and how Holistic Nutrition can assist you. The recommendations will also support your family goals ☺

Another great option is trying out one of my pre-set weekly meal plans that includes a grocery list and over 15 new recipes for you to try. This is great if you’re looking for some cooking inspiration that will support your health goals and it’s a cost-effective option.

The last option is starting to implement a few simple habits into your daily routine to optimize your well-being:

1. Drink water. I know it sounds so simple BUT a lot of us do not drink enough H2O. Make a habit to drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up and aim for at least 2L of water daily. Your body produces waste and one way to get rid of that is by drinking enough fluids to help flush those toxins out.

2. Increase your bitter foods. Bitters are important for digestion as they stimulate the gallbladder to secrete bile which helps break down fats and increases their absorption, along with fat-soluble vitamins. Bile also supports detoxification by providing a vehicle to excrete waste from the body. Some great foods to include at this time are:

∙ Arugula

∙ Dandelion

∙ Kale

∙ Radishes

∙ Brussel Sprouts

3. Add some herbal teas! This is easy and you have the flexibility to switch things up depending on your mood. There are so many great blends out there to suit your goals, and you can find them at any health food store or even order online.

Immunity: Elderberry and Echinacea tea

Digestive Health: Marshmallow Root tea

Detoxification: Dandelion Root tea

This is a uniquely challenging time for all of us, however you can choose to view this as an opportunity to invest a bit more time and energy into your health. You got this!
